Asda: Stop Selling Israeli Produce and Products

Stop sourcing, buying and selling Israeli produce and products across all Asda stores and online.

Prioritise UK-grown produce, verified Palestinian brands and other ethical alternatives, and publish a transparent sourcing transition plan.
COMMIT
Commit to ending trade relationships with Israeli suppliers and explain publicly how its Human Rights Policy, ESG commitments and supplier standards are being applied in practice.
Why This Matters
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declared Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories unlawful under international law. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant. Since then, United Nations bodies and leading international human rights organisations have continued to document serious and ongoing human rights violations.
Against this backdrop, businesses have a responsibility to examine their supply chains and ensure their conduct is consistent with internationally recognised human rights standards and their own published commitments.
Asda’s Own Commitments
Asda publicly states that it is committed to responsible sourcing and to respecting human rights throughout its supply chains in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
Yet Asda continues to source and sell Israeli produce and products. Asda’s own Human Rights Policy, supplier standards and ethical sourcing commitments require meaningful due diligence and responsible action in high-risk supply chains.
We believe Asda’s continued sourcing from Israel is inconsistent with those commitments.
Why We Are Calling on Asda to Act
This campaign is not calling on people to stop shopping at Asda. We are asking customers, shareholders and the wider public to hold Asda to the standards it has chosen to publish and promote.
Asda cannot claim to uphold the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ethical sourcing standards and responsible business practices while failing to demonstrate how those commitments are being applied to its Israeli supply chains.
The Co-operative Group chose a different path in 2025. Asda can do the same.
Human rights commitments are not slogans. They are promises. We are asking Asda to keep theirs.
Why Every Shopper Should Care
Everyday shoppers deserve honesty, transparency and consistency. Consumers have the right to trust that when a company talks about ethical sourcing, responsible business and respect for human rights, those commitments are being applied in practice, not just promoted in policy documents and advertising.
We are simply asking Asda to uphold the standards it has chosen to publish and the promises it has chosen to make.
Consumers have the right to trust that a company’s values are reflected not only in its words, but in its actions.

Dear Asda Leadership,
I am writing to demand that Asda take immediate action to ensure it is not profiting from or contributing to human rights violations and international war crimes through its sourcing and supply chain practices.
Asda presents itself as an ethical retailer. Those values must be reflected in its purchasing decisions. Continuing to stock products or maintain commercial relationships that are linked to violations of international law undermines public trust and raises serious ethical concerns.
I call on Asda to:
- Remove products sourced from Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories from its stores and online platforms.
- Conduct and publish comprehensive human rights due diligence across its supply chains.
- Publicly disclose the steps it is taking to ensure compliance with international human rights standards.
- Meet with representatives of this campaign and respond publicly to these concerns.
Until meaningful action is taken, I will reconsider where I spend my money and encourage others to do the same. Consumers expect businesses to uphold ethical standards, not simply make statements about them.
The choice is yours: demonstrate leadership by taking meaningful action, or risk losing the confidence of customers who expect accountability and respect for human rights.
