Ask DNC Chair Ken Martin to appoint a climate-focused advocate as a voting member of the DNC!
DNC Chair Ken Martin
It’s no wonder that the climate movement feels shut out of power at the DNC. Four hundred and forty-eight party insiders include state party chairs, leaders of labor unions, lobbyists, and party hacks – but no one from a climate group. No one who could talk to the outside groups. No one who could write smart resolutions praising the Inflation Reduction Act as a climate bill, but explaining that the bipartisan infrastructure bill was NOT a climate bill (sadly, the DNC messed that one up).
Incoming chair Ken Martin has the power to appoint “at large” members, which the last chair, Jaime Harrison, used to appoint 75 people from labor union heads to personal friends to the DNC. If climate is important to every Democrat, shouldn't Ken Martin appoint at least one at large member from a climate group or caucus?
We think it's time for an at-large climate hawk at the DNC. Sign here if you agree.

Congratulations on your election! Currently there are no climate-focused people on the Democratic National Committee at all. The DNC is stacked with lots of people appointed by the chair – some party stalwarts, some leaders of labor unions and other Democratic stalwarts, some lobbyists and party hacks. Meanwhile, the DNC gets regularly protested by outside climate groups who feel, correctly, that they don’t have a voice on the DNC. The solution: you must appoint at least one climate advocate to the DNC.
