Ask the Andover School Committee to Return to Bargaining Table with IAs

Andover School Committee, Andover Select Board, and Andover Town Manager

For more than a year now, the 240 Instructional Assistants of Andover Public Schools have worked through a pandemic without a contract. The Andover Education Association, Unit B has attempted to negotiate a new contract that upgrades wages, recognizing the vital role IAs play in the classroom. The Andover School Committee, however, made just one financial offer before walking away.

Show the School Committee, Select Board, and Town Administration that you support a return to negotiations by signing and sharing this petition.

We, the undersigned, respectfully ask the School Committee and its representatives to promptly return to the bargaining table and work in good faith with the AEA to reach a fair and dignified agreement.

We are the unified voice of IAs, teachers, parents, students, and concerned community members of Andover. IAs uplift the quality of our schools and the daily lives of our children. Prompt action is needed to reach an equitable contract for some of the hardest working but underpaid education professionals in the Merrimack Valley. Our schools can’t afford to lose any more IAs!
