'Ban The Box' on Housing Applications in Colorado!

In 2019 , Colorado took a major step to 'Ban the Box' in regards to the criminal record box on employment applications.  

The law prohibits private employers from asking about criminal background on the initial employment application.  This law allows people to consider a potential employee on their qualifications rather than not giving an interview because of a background.

This is a fairness measure that should also apply to housing applications.

Ban the Box around rental discrimination has been expanded in states like New Jersey and we can do it here in Colorado .  People should not be discriminated against before they are even considered for employment or housing.

This is an opportunity to compete measure that should also apply to housing applications. This would ensure that people's past mistakes would not perpetually derail their progress in finding employment and housing.
