Burnaby is the third-largest city in BC - yet our hospital is 67 years old and in need of urgent upgrades.

The BC government signed an agreement in 2024 for Phase 2 of the hospital redevelopment. But on April 29, we learned that the Ministry of Infrastructure had cancelled the contract - putting the project on hold.

The project includes two new acute-care towers, a BC Cancer Centre, and upgrades to existing buildings.

Burnaby residents deserve world-class healthcare facilities, and the BCA is going to fight to get this project back on track.

The BC Government has cancelled a contract for Phase 2 of the Burnaby Hospital project.
This delay will push back the badly-needed upgrades to this 67 year old hospital, and will drive up the cost of the project. Burnaby residents deserve world-class healthcare facilities.
We, the undersigned, call on the BC Ministry of Infrastructure to restore this important contract, and move forward the badly-needed upgrades to the Burnaby Hospital.
