Slow Down The Stadium Deal

Metro Nashville Council

Nashville needs affordable housing, quality public education, living wage jobs, a sustainable transit system, and other vital infrastructure to thrive as a city.

We do not need a new domed stadium; nor are we obligated to build one.

While we all want the Titans to succeed, this success cannot come at the expense of our communities' basic needs.

That is why we are calling on the Metro Council to get a full accounting of the public costs of renovating the current stadium versus building a new one before a vote on stadium legislation takes place. This analysis must include Metro Nashville's minimum legal obligation to be paid under the current lease. Only then will we actually know whether the proposed new stadium is a better deal for Nashville or not.

Billions of taxpayer dollars are at stake. It’s time to STAND UP for your city, OUR city!

This is our money and we demand a say.

We, the undersigned, call on Metro Council to require a full accounting of the public costs of renovating the stadium versus building a new one before a vote on stadium legislation takes place. This analysis must include a specific amount for what Metro's minimum legal obligation is to pay under the current lease. This information will ensure transparency regarding the true costs to taxpayers and restore public trust in the process. As concerned residents and voters, we are calling on you, our duly elected representatives, to be responsible stewards of our beloved city's precious resources and to serve in the public's interest.
