Cayuga Medical Center Management
"We, the undersigned, as both residents of Tompkins County and/or patients at Cayuga Medical Center, support our Registered Nurses (RNs) having a voice in how our healthcare is delivered. We call on Cayuga Medical Center Management to respect our community's support of labor and our RNs by agreeing to a Code of Conduct for the election."
Free and Fair Election Code of Conduct
The Management of Cayuga Medical Center will not spend money hiring a "union avoidance" law firm or any outside entity to dissuade the RNs from their choice. This is money better spent on improving patient care for our community.
- Cayuga Medical Center Management will not force RNs to attend mandatory one-on-one or 'captive audience' anti-union meetings;
- We need our RNs to be at our bedsides and the bedsides of our loved ones delivering quality care;
- Cayuga Medical Center Management will respect the commitment of our community to free speech and will not restrain our RNs from speaking freely and factually about the union to their co-workers;
- As a community committed to labor rights, we call upon the Cayuga Medical Center to allow our RNs to have access to union representatives and information at the workplace.
Our community is the center of care at the Cayuga Medical Center. We expect that the values of our community will be upheld, and the choices of our RNs will be respected. We urge you to embrace this as an opportunity to improve care and to provide the RNs with a voice in the important challenges facing the healthcare industry.
