Approve a long-overdue raise in COLA for Boston Retirement System Retirees.
Join us in supporting the retired city workers whose dedication to Boston has helped this city flourish. Retirees are fighting for a fair raise to the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to their monthly pension payments. Price increases are impacting everyone, but especially so for our retired neighbors on fixed incomes who are struggling with rising healthcare, prescription drug, and housing costs.
The Boston Retirement Board hasn't approved an increase in the COLA base since 2021. Please take a moment to join AFSCME 1526 Boston Public Library Employees Union in urging the Boston Retirement Board to vote in favor of a raise to the COLA base and a small increase in monthly COLA payments. Together, we can ensure that Boston honors its responsibility to support the people who helped build this City so they can live out the remainder of their retirement with dignity.
