As members of the late Vernon F. Dahmer family, we are asking the public to join THE DAHMER FAMILY in demanding that a disclaimer be shown on the screen at the beginning and end of the movie long enough and in letters big enough to read, stating who VERNON F. DAHMER, SR was, per the following:

"VERNON F. DAHMER, SR. was a real person who fought (literally) & died for Black folks' Civil & Voting Rights! This movie is a FICTIONALIZED VERSION of one lesser event surrounding the investigation of his murder."

A direct message from Vernon F. Dahmer's son, Dennis Dahmer:
The movie creates fictionalized characters that did not exist, a Black FBI Agent (Black hero sidekick trope), and makes a "justice avenger" out of an individual, Greg Scarpa, who played a minor role at best.
The movie storyline, as told to me by the Director during filming, did not happen; it is mostly fiction.
No fake Black FBI agent, along with the Scarpa character, went on some vigilante-style scenario to seek justice for VFD or his family; it is all fiction!

These White hero savior movie tropes are very popular right now.

Some White guy shows up and gets justice for Black folks; this time, they have added a Black sidekick.

These White hero trope movies MAKE MONEY ($$$) FOR EVERYBODY INVOLVED. I am talking about the financial investors, producers, directors, actors, production staff, movie theaters, online outlets, merchandisers, etc.. During my last discussion with the producer (Chester?), I requested a disclaimer be posted on the screen in large letters, long enough to read, before and after the movie, stating, "VERNON F. DAHMER, SR. was a real person who fought (literally) & died for Black folks' Civil & Voting Rights! This movie is a FICTIONALIZED VERSION of one lesser event surrounding the investigation of his murder".
The producer verbally agreed to this during our last discussion, but when I followed up in writing for him to confirm...I HEARD NOTHING BACK!

Again, we are asking the public to join THE DAHMER FAMILY in requesting that this disclaimer be included per the above. At the very least, the actors, producers, investors, production staff, movie theaters, online outlets, and everybody else MAKING MONEY ($$$) OFF THIS MOVIE should join us in demanding that the disclaimer be added to the movie per the above.

We are not interested in fictionalized "entertainment" produced for financial gain ($$$) by others at the expense of a real person, VERNON F. DAHMER, SR., and his family.
VERNON F. DAHMER, SR. is buried behind the SHADY GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH, located in THE KELLY SETTLEMENT.......that is very real!
His legacy demands that the truth be told about who he was and what he stood for!

We will not support this fictionalized movie. What you do with your money is your choice.

Please sign this petition in support of the Dahmer family.
