WNBA player Brittney Griner, an out lesbian, has been held on charges of alleged hashish oil possession in Moscow for weeks now. Griner is a Phoenix Mercury team member. However, she’s played for RUMC Ekaterinburg since 2015.

She could get up to 10 years in prison. Help us bring Brittney back home!

Dear Secretary Blinken:

Three United States citizens have become pawns in President Vladimir Putin's conflict between Russia and Ukraine. WNBA player Brittney Griner, an out Black lesbian, is one of them.

I'm reaching out to ask our government to as enthusiastically advocate for Griner's release as they fight for former U.S. Marines in Russian custody. Don't let White privilege or military service be used justify their release before hers.

Our government should be unified in seeking their joint release. While they may be civilians, honor the pledge not to leave anyone behind.
