Our Voices, Our Power: Protect Voting Rights Now
U.S. SCOTUS and Congress

WHOSE COURT? WHOSE DEMOCRACY?
Across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas, politicians are pushing new tactics to silence Black, Brown, and working-class voices at the ballot box.
With Louisiana v. Callais set for argument on October 15, 2025, the justices will decide whether Louisiana — and by extension any state — can shred districts and erase Black political power. This isn’t just about lines on a map. It’s about whether Black voters will have any meaningful representation at all. If the Court sides with Louisiana, the number of Black-held seats could collapse, not just in Louisiana, but across the South and the country. Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, the key protection against racial discrimination at the polls hangs by a thread.
Ask yourself: why is the Supreme Court even entertaining this? Has this Court been captured, corrupted, turned into a weapon for those who want to drag us backwards? Is this still a legitimate institution, or just another arm of lawlessness? These questions aren’t abstract. They’re urgent. If the Supreme Court strips away our rights, we must strip away their legitimacy. We refuse to accept a system where Black seats are sacrificed for partisan gain, and where the rights of entire communities are bartered away by unelected judges.
This fight isn’t just about the South. Every community in America is at risk if the Court decides our votes no longer count. What happens in the South, doesn’t stay in the South.

We demand urgent action to defend and protect voting rights in the South and across the country. For generations, the South has been the proving ground for America’s promise of democracy and for generations, that promise has been threatened by those seeking to silence Black political power. Now, the Supreme Court is poised to erase the very protections that give Black and Brown Americans any meaningful say in our government.
Where are the justices who would defend democracy? Or have they too been captured by those who would deny us our rights? If they strip away our seats, they strip away their own legitimacy. We call on the Supreme Court, Congress, and all elected leaders to:
Defend Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act: the shield against racial discrimination in voting.
Stop racially discriminatory redistricting that weakens the voice of Black and Brown voters and guarantee fair, equal access to the polls in every state.
Adopt national voting rights standards so no community is left behind.
The South has something to say, and we will not be silenced. Stand with us. Stand for democracy. Protect the right to vote for all.
We will not accept a court that normalizes racism or erases Black power. What Happens in the South, Doesn’t Stay in the South and we will not be silenced. Stand with us. Stand up for democracy. Protect the right to vote for all.
