Cancel Campus Parking Fees: Stop Making Us Pay to Work
NC State Board of Trustees
NC State workers, including many student workers, are forced to pay out of pocket for parking permits on campus. These parking fees are a burden on the people who keep our university running. Parking fees disrupt our financial health and can be repealed with our collective action. End pay to work, cancel worker parking fees now!

Paying to park has become a mandatory burden for student workers, housekeepers, and other essential campus workers across NC State. Many of us pay hundreds of dollars every semester just to do our jobs and pursue our education. Many campus workers do not set our own work hours and must rely on car transportation to meet our work assignments and receive our paychecks. For many of NC State’s most essential workers, a car is not a luxury, but a requirement to get by.
The University’s recent decision to increase parking fees* adds to an already undue financial strain on NC State’s lowest paid workers, the very people who power this campus and keep it running. We should not have to pay to work. Cancel parking fees for campus workers now!
