Chicago City Council Resolution: We Want Medicare for All!
Chicago City Council
The Chicago Resolution for Medicare for All has officially been introduced in the City Council! This is a major step toward building momentum for a healthcare system that prioritizes people over profits.
Resolution R2025-001894 calls on our city leaders to support a single-payer, Medicare for All system that would eliminate the many financial barriers that leave too many Americans without healthcare they can afford or access. It will set the stage for victories in cities across Illinois and on the statewide level. This is our chance to show that Chicago stands with working families, patients, and communities demanding real healthcare justice.
Demonstrating our overwhelming support for Medicare for All can have a big impact on our elected officials, and encourage them to sign on to the federal legislation and commit to passing the bill.
Please sign the petition below, and we will make sure your alders and representatives know that their constituents want Medicare for All!

As a Chicagoan, I ask that members of the Chicago City Council pass Resolution R2025-001894: The Chicago Medicare for All Resolution. We need to send a message to our local and federal officials that we demand Medicare for All, not band-aid solutions for a broken system. Despite a majority of Americans believing in single payer healthcare, many of our elected officials still refuse to support it publicly or make strides towards implementation. Now is the time to take a stand for Medicare for All. Please sign on today to support Resolution R2025-001894: The Chicago Medicare for All Resolution.
