CITIZENS PETITION FOR ENERGY AFFORDABILITY
Governor Healey, Senate President Spilka, Speaker Mariano
Let’s have Massachusetts Save Money with Clean Heat!
We need to cut our communities' utility bills and meet the state’s climate goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. To do that, we must transition buildings away from heating with fossil fuels like methane gas and towards using affordable clean energy instead.
The aging gas distribution network is costing us billions to maintain. In contrast, renewable energy is now the cheapest form of energy available.
Switching from methane gas to renewable energy (solar, wind, and storage) is not just good for the planet - it will be good for our pocketbooks, too!
Sign this petition to urge our state leaders to enact legislation making this change possible, with no new taxes. Let’s have Massachusetts Save Money with Clean Heat!
