Governor Brian Kemp
*Help bring our sisters home*
Dear Governor Brian Porter Kemp ,
Women on The Rise and The National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls urges you to use your clemency power. We are providing you with a list of women that are currently incarcerated. These women have applied for clemency and have not been given a response. It is urgent that these women are immediately released because they pose no threat to public safety. During this pandemic, It is important that we consider the release of the most vulnerable population to Covid-19. Medical experts have recommended decarceration in order to flatten the curve inside prisons and jails. Grant the clemency of women who are elderly, survived and punished, medically infirmed and long-timers who have already served at least ten years. Local community members and organizations have signed this letter to support their immediate release.
