COVID-19 First Responders Deserve Safety Equipment and Gratitude
President Donald J. Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 has shown Americans, yet again, how essential workers, first responders, and health care workers perform heroically, often without additional pay and at high personal risk. If and when this pandemic becomes manageable, we want to show gratitude and appreciation to our truckers, grocery store employees, the public transit workers, the health care workers, the cleaners, the store clerks, the police officers, and other first responders. Some will die because of their service. These heroes and their families deserve our gratitude. We ask that the federal government immediately provide:
1. Personal safety equipment, without reliance on state resources.
2. Hazard pay,
3. Post-pandemic healthcare.
4. A post-pandemic national gratitude parade in Washington DC.
At the very least, we ask for a COVID-19 Essential Worker Appreciation Day and Parade in Washington DC
