Update (5/26/25): After days of delay, a small number of aid deliveries reached Gaza on May 20, but officials say the shipment was only a fraction of the 500 trucks a day that are needed. At the same time, Israel intensified its military campaign of bombings and air strikes in operations that killed more than 500 Palestinians in just a few days. Both Netanyahu and Finance Minister Smotrich have admitted that the purpose of allowing some aid is not relief, but optics “so the world does not stop us and accuse us of war crimes.”

We, constituents throughout your district, call for immediate intervention on the total blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip since March 2, 2025—the longest complete closure in the history of the 18-year blockade.
Specifically, we demand that you join other members of Congress to:
Take a public stand demanding the lift of the complete blockade and calling for unrestricted entry of lifesaving aid, including food, clean water, medicine, medical supplies, and all other necessities.
Publicly advocate for free press to enter the Gaza Strip
Denounce the indiscriminate bombing of children and all civilians.
Call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
In what can only be described as a genocide, Israel has intentionally cut off all supplies to Gaza, blocking the entry of all necessities – including food, water, medicine, and fuel. The few remaining medical facilities haven’t adequately functioned in over a year due to limited or lacking supplies. Widespread video footage shows children who have been slowly and deliberately starved as a result of the total blockade, with 3,669 admitted to hospitals for acute malnutrition in March of 2025. Meanwhile, more than 116,000 tons of food assistance remain stuck at border crossings, with thousands of trucks awaiting clearance. Additionally, repeated Israeli airstrikes have killed Palestinians daily, often with hundreds of deaths a day and primarily consisting of children and women - wiping out entire families in seconds.. These restrictions also put the remaining Israeli hostages at greater risk as they too face starvation under the siege.
By no stretch of the imagination can these actions be considered “self-defense.” Israel has now begun forcing thousands of people into smaller and smaller areas in the south – a prelude to the ethnic cleansing that Israel’s leaders are stating openly as a deliberate goal. In one of the greatest humanitarian catastrophes of recent times, - a disaster in which the United States is complicit - Gaza’s entire population of 2 million people face imminent starvation, widespread disease, and prolonged suffering.
We echo a growing chorus of voices throughout your district who demand our elected public officials fulfill their commitment of representing the constituents who elected them. We are part of the 61% of Americans who want the U.S. to stop sending Israel weapons. We are horrified that our government has been using tax dollars to fuel this genocide while people within our community struggle with housing, food security, medical care, and other forms of economic instability from an exploitative system that enriches corporate interests and harms working people everywhere.
The people of Gaza need urgent action to guarantee unrestricted aid today. We reject Trump's latest plan to utilize private firms rather than well-established aid groups with the operational capacity and proven experience to adequately and equitably address the disaster on the ground. Your constituents call on you to use your platform and position as an elected public official to reflect the overwhelming response to the genocide in Gaza. History will remember your choice, and so will your constituents.
