Demand Rep Julie Johnson Donate Palantir Profits to ICE Murder Victims

Representative Julie Johnson has been profiteering from the tyranny ICE has inflicted on our communities while sitting on the committee that has direct regulation and oversight of ICE. She knew this was coming, and her investment disclosures show she profited from it.
Rep. Julie Johnson is the only Texas Congressperson, and only 1 of 6 people in all of Congress, that invested in Palantir stock since 2021. The Texas Tribune said Congresswoman Julie Johnson was the #2 most prolific Congressional Stock Trader, only behind Republican Mike McCaul.
Julie Johnson serves as a Vice Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security and on the Border Security and Enforcement and Emergency Management and Technology subcommittees. The Homeland Security Committee reviews legislation related to the security of the United States, including border security, transportation and maritime security, and emergency management. The Committee has direct oversight of the Department of Homeland Security.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is primarily regulated and overseen in Congress by the House Committee on Homeland Security. Specifically, it is overseen by the Border Security and Enforcement Subcommittee, of which Johnson is Vice Ranking Member, and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
Palantir’s technology is not just being used by ICE against immigrants, but against American citizens, simply for engaging in their Constitutional rights to free speech, the right to protest, and the right to bear arms. This comes after progressives have spent years sounding the alarm about this technology being used by authoritarian regimes abroad.
Empty promises and campaign-trail pivoting won't cut it anymore. If Julie Johnson’s "change of heart" on ICE and Congressional Stock Trading is anything more than a cynical political calculation in an election year, she must immediately purge this blood money from her accounts.

We the people of Texas 32nd, Texas 33rd, City of Dallas, Tarrant County, Texas and the US, demand that you, Rep. Julie Johnson, donate all profits from your investments in Palantir and any ICE contracted entity while serving as a Vice Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security, to ICE murder victims such as Renee Good, Keith Porter Jr., and Alex Pretti.
Your profiteering off Palantir, the digital backbone of the ICE deportation machine, while also being on the Border Security and Enforcement and Emergency Management and Technology subcommittees, is an absolute disgrace. Of the six Congressional Members that have traded Palantir stock since 2021, you are the only Texas congressional delegation, Republican or Democrat, to get your pockets dirty with a company that is using its technology to target not just immigrants, but American Citizens. Among Texas congressional lawmakers, you were #2 in the highest number of trades behind Republican Michael McCaul, amassing $4.24 million, according to Capitol Trades.
It is a slap in the face to every American citizen and immigrant family in Texas for you to campaign on "justice" while profiteering off Palantir’s surveillance and deportation tech that is targeting our families. You did not regulate Palantir from using this technology against citizens; you knew how this technology would be used against our migrant neighbors, and instead of bringing it to the forefront, you invested in and profited from it.
The time for politicians playing and legislating to their portfolio instead of the people is over. We thank you for pivoting recently on Congressional Stock Trading, but switching stances in an election year after large-scale profiteering is not enough. You cannot claim to stand with our community while enriching yourself off the tools used to hunt them down. You cannot claim to be a progressive Democrat while profiting off the authoritarian police state.
We demand full accountability now. If you claim to stand for justice, prove it. Divest completely and immediately. Every last dollar of your personal Palantir profits, profits built on the surveillance, detention, and death of immigrants, must be surrendered to the families shattered by ICE’s brutality. You will not profit off the machinery of suffering. From maritime ventures near Venezuela to espionage investments in Palantir, your portfolio reeks of exploitation. As Vice Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security, you have betrayed the people who placed their faith in you. The time for excuses and calculated silence is over. Act, or be remembered as complicit.
