Demand that the Iowa Board of Regents remove their Anti-DEI Recommendations for our 3 State Universities

Iowa Board of Regents

The all-white Iowa Board of Regents has recommended that all 3 state universities eliminate funding for positions and programs focused on DEI that are not necessary for the schools' accreditation or the law. These recommendations come DESPITE the findings of their own investigation proving that most people do not want to remove/reduce/change DEI initiatives.

This investigation was required though SF 560 that was signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds on June 1, 2023 attacks most facets of DEI programs across the state. It is important to know that the entire board was appointed by Reynolds or former Governor Branstad. Reynolds is determined to harm Iowa's education systems and has enacted bans on books and critical race theory in public schools, attacked trans children rights, and opted of the critical summer food program.

Stand with us as we say no to oppressive legislation that undermines our freedoms and oppresses all those who are not white-cis-males. SF 560 and the Regents subsequent corrupt report are nothing more than a white supremacist attack on BIPOC, LGBTQIA, women, and disabled folks rights to practice freedom of speech. This law and these recommendations impinge on the First Amendment as it restricts many from the ability to communicate their stories and lived experiences.

Please sign our petition demanding that the Iowa Board of Regents change their recommendation to align with the factual findings of their own investigation of diversity, equity and inclusion programs and efforts of each institution of higher learning under its control that show that the people are resoundingly in favor of DEI.

Let's listen to the people and show them what a democracy looks like!
