Demanding Justice for Terrol Massey
New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, Chief of Staff Jeff Lewis, and Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado | New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations, Executive Clemency Bureau, and Acting Commissio
Nora Massey is waiting to bring justice to her son Terrol Massey who died on January 3, 2022, while in police custody in New York. Terrol was a healthy 16 year old when he was wrongfully convicted for a crime he did not commit and was then sentenced to almost 30 years in state prison, where he was wrongfully placed in solitary confinement for months on end. After nearly two decades in prison as an innocent man, Terrol died due to medical neglect.
Nora has dedicated her life to fighting the criminal injustice system. She worked tirelessly and was successful in her fight to pass the Raise the Age legislation in New York State, which raised the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 18 years old. She is also a big advocated for End Qualified Immunity NY.
Now Nora is fighting to bring justice for her son who died in the hands of NYS DOCCS AKA Correction officers who have the license to kill without any consequences.

[Your Name]
I am writing to express my deep concern and outrage regarding wrongful conviction and tragic death of Terrol Massey while in the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections. It is my firm belief that justice has not been served, and I implore you to take immediate action to rectify this injustice.
Terrol Massey's untimely death raises alarming questions about the treatment and care provided by the New York State Department of Corrections. I demand a thorough and independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing. It is imperative that every aspect of this case is examined meticulously to ensure transparency, accountability, and that those responsible are held fully liable.
Furthermore, I strongly advocate for a posthumous pardon for Terrol Massey to clear his name of any wrongdoing. His death has deprived him of the opportunity to defend himself, and it is our moral obligation to ensure that his reputation is restored. Granting a posthumous pardon would serve as a recognition of the injustice he suffered and provide a small measure of solace to his grieving family.
I urge you to utilize the powers vested in your respective positions to initiate the following actions:
1. Launch an immediate independent investigation into the death of Terrol Massey, focusing on the conduct of the New York State Department of Corrections, the circumstances leading to his passing, and any potential negligence or misconduct involved.
2. Ensure that the investigation is thorough, transparent, and conducted by impartial individuals with the necessary expertise to evaluate all relevant evidence and testimonies.
3. Petition for a posthumous pardon for Terrol Massey, considering the circumstances surrounding his death, the potential miscarriage of justice, and the impact on his family and loved ones.
I firmly believe that justice must prevail, and it is through your commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and equality that we can achieve this goal. I kindly request your prompt attention to this matter and will be eagerly awaiting your response, outlining the actions you intend to take.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
