The Trump administration is preparing an executive order to fire thousands of federal health workers, including at the FDA, NIH, and CDC. And they are illegally cutting billions in NIH research funds.

Public Health is essential and needs to be expanded, not scaled back.

This is an obvious attempt to control information in the midst of surging COVID, flu, RSV, and norovirus cases. And with bird flu quickly becoming a crisis, the American public deserves adequate communication and research.

We are also currently facing the largest tuberculosis outbreak since we've been keeping records and it has recently spread to a second state. This is a critical moment that requires quick thinking or we could be facing a nationwide TB outbreak along with everything else.

We are asking all members of Congress to file lawsuits, bring attention to the crisis itself, and lead protests educating the public on this reckless decision to cut public health and the far-reaching negative impacts that will be created by firing these federal health workers and slashing NIH funding...

The American public needs their representatives to do everything within their power or we could be left with nothing but wave after wave of uncontrollable infections all with their own long-term risks.

We must protect what public health we have left.

If there is a problem, we should improve upon it, not remove public health entirely.
