Divest NYS Teacher's Retirement from ICE Contractors

We cannot use public pensions to support ICE contractors.
Currently, the NYS Teachers’ Retirement System invests almost $350m USD among Palantir, CoreCivic, General Dynamics, and GEO Group. Together, these companies have received over $850m USD in new ICE contracts since May 2025.
We urge the NYSTRS board to divest from harmful companies which are colluding with the government and the Department of Homeland Security to illegally disappear our neighbors.
The NYSTRS claims it strives to model ethical values within the pension industry, yet the Fund is investing directly into companies that are kidnapping, imprisoning, deporting, surveilling, assaulting, and killing both your pension holders and our community at large. Therefore, allowing public pensions to be invested in companies that support ICE operations is contradictory to NYSTRS’s stated values.
We are calling on this board to divest from unethical ICE contractors and pursue alternative investments that support the community instead of tear it apart.
