Do Not Repeal the Affordable Care Act

Senators Casey and Toomey:

We, your constituents, demand that you NOT vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Repealing without an adequate replacement would be devastating, and in some cases, deadly to millions of Pennsylvanians.

  • ACA repeal will cause over 1 million Pennsylvanians to lose health insurance. Many of our fellow citizens will die for lack of health insurance.
  • ACA repeal will be very costly for the hospitals—and especially the community hospitals—that will be required to provide health care to the newly uninsured. Some of those community hospitals will close harming everyone.
  • ACA repeal will be very damaging to our economy. Over 100,000 Pennsylvanians will lose their jobs due to repeal. The state’s gross domestic product will drop by around $75 billion dollars.
  • ACA repeal will add $1.5 billion to the state’s budget deficit.

And, unless the ACA is replaced immediately by a similar program, Pennsylvanians who purchase insurance outside the ACA will see their co-pays, deductibles and premiums would skyrocket.
