Don’t evict the Granton Travellers without a Safe Alternative Site!
Edinburgh City Council
The family of Travellers living on land on Granton Park Avenue are our friends and neighbours. They have been part of the Granton and wider Edinburgh community for years, contributing to the area and building strong local ties.
The Scottish Government, who owns the land, plan to evict the family with there being no alternative site for them to go to in Edinburgh. Evicting them without a secure place to go would cause serious harm, disrupting their access to healthcare, education, and essential support networks.
We believe everyone deserves the right to live with dignity, safety, and security. Forced eviction without an alternative is not only unjust, but it also threatens the wellbeing of an entire family.
By signing this petition, we can show Edinburgh City Council, The Scottish Government and the courts that the Granton community recognises the value of the Traveller community in Granton and support their right to live in peace and security.
Granton is stronger when all our neighbours are treated with fairness and respect.
