Don’t give data centers a free pass to pollute!
The Environmental Protection Agency
A new proposal from the EPA would allow polluters to begin construction of polluting facilities without obtaining permits designed to limit air pollution and protect communities. This jeopardizes the health of children and families who live nearby, exposing them to more toxic pollution and the respiratory illness, heart disease, and cancer that comes with it.

I am alarmed by the EPA’s proposal to give data centers, power plants and other industrial polluters a free pass to pollute.
Under the Clean Air Act, the New Source Review protects communities from dangerous pollution from sources like power plants, data centers, and other polluters. These safeguards require developers to ensure new projects won’t make air quality worse. The new proposal would allow polluters to begin construction of polluting facilities without obtaining permits designed to limit air pollution and protect communities. This jeopardizes the health of children and families who live nearby, exposing them to more toxic pollution and the respiratory illness, heart disease, and cancer that comes with it. The Trump administration’s proposal would give polluters yet another fast track to prioritizing profits over people.
I strongly urge the Environmental Protection Agency to protect the air quality and health of families living near proposed data centers, power plants and other industrial polluters by maintaining and enforcing the existing New Source Review without exception.
Don’t give data centers and other polluters a free pass!
