Don’t let Trump bankrupt the Postal Service
U.S. Congress
The United States Postal Service provides absolutely crucial services for Americans nationwide. But right now, it’s in danger -- and President Trump has no intention of saving it.
The Postal Service is being hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis. Businesses have drastically cut back on how much mail they’re sending -- and experts say that without support from the government, the agency could soon run out of money.
Losing the USPS -- especially during a public health crisis -- would be devastating to millions of Americans. Many rely on it to keep in touch with their friends and family... to stay up-to-date on the latest news... and to get their medications without the risk or inconvenience of going to the pharmacy.
And this year, the USPS couldn’t be more crucial to the survival of our democracy. Many will return their 2020 Census forms by mail, to make sure we get an accurate count of everyone living in the U.S. -- and vote-by-mail programs will be a vital way for voters to safely make themselves heard in the 2020 elections.
But if President Trump gets his way, the USPS will go bankrupt this summer. He has already threatened to veto any stimulus bill with Postal Service funding in it -- and now, he’s trying to impose draconian conditions on USPS workers as a condition for a loan from the Treasury.
Our representatives can’t let Trump’s attacks on the Postal Service -- which may be linked to his baseless opposition to vote-by-mail and his party's unpopular mission to privatize the agency -- wipe it out. Add your name to tell Congress: include funding to save the USPS in the next COVID-19 stimulus package.

Donald Trump is willing to let the USPS -- a lifeline for millions of Americans -- go bankrupt. And if he’s successful, many will lose access to mail-in ballots, communications with loved ones, and even life-saving medications.
We can’t let Trump wipe out this vital agency, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Congress must provide ample funding to preserve the USPS in its next stimulus package.
