Don't Realign Regulatory Away!
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division
To help show support for keeping Regulatory within the Pittsburgh District and Chicago District, a petition has been created. We respectfully ask that you consider signing and sharing it with others who may also support Regulatory.
This is an important issue that significantly affects our workforce and the effectiveness of the mission we carry out every day. Our leadership appears intent on preparing for and potentially carrying out this change without meaningful consultation with the workforce or the public we serve.

The workers in the Pittsburgh District and Chicago District Regulatory Divisions recently were informed that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was considering a reorganization of the Regulatory Program in the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division that would likely result in Pittsburgh and Chicago based workers administratively reporting to other USACE district commanders – including in Huntington, WV; and Louisville, KY; and possibly Baltimore, MD; and Rock Island, IL.
We are concerned about the potential impacts this change could have on the Regulatory mission, including the loss of local expertise, disruption of long-established stakeholder relationships, reduced efficiency, and the possible loss of valuable institutional knowledge within our districts.
We call on USACE to not commit to any reorganization without full consultation and bargaining with affected unions like ours, so that the workers closest to the affected public we serve can be involved in the problem-solving. The ranks of affected Regulatory professionals have relevant skills and expertise to formulate courses of action, if the problem is presented to us.
