Encore Audio Visual Technicians at the Seattle Convention Center, the Greater Tacoma Convention Center, and multiple hotels in the Puget Sound Region have been working under an expired Collective Bargaining Agreement for over nine months. After multiple bargaining sessions, the Employer continues to offer extremely low wages with most barely above minimum wage.

They also are unwilling to provide a secure schedule to their employees, expecting workers to be able to change their shift start time by two hours with absolutely no notice.

These technicians are vital in creating successful events that bring business to our community. Encore Global, a hedge fund owned, multinational corporation, can afford to share the wealth and provide sustainable jobs for these workers.

Encore workers deserve sustainable jobs with a living wage and a reliable schedule.

We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with IATSE Local 15 Encore Audio Visual Technicians, who provide essential technical expertise and outstanding customer service at the Seattle Convention Center, the Greater Tacoma Convention Center, and your partner hotels throughout the Puget Sound Region.

We call on Encore to:
1) Agree to proposed living wages that meet area standards rather than undermine them.
2) Provide a secure schedule to workers so they can make plans and take care of their families.
3) Respect the rights, stability, and well-being of the workers who make the events you support possible.
4) Protect union jobs and uphold the standards that ensure safety, excellence, and dignity at work.
