End Residential Water Shut offs in Wilmington

Wilmington City Council

Why is the City of Wilmington shutting off people's water during a pandemic?

The Biden Administration and Congress have sent the city and state millions of dollars to keep residents housed and safe during COVID--- including having access to clean water.

We're calling on the City of Wilmington to stop shutting off access to water for past-due water bills! Please sign this petition.

Dear Wilmington City Council,

Thank you for your work for the people of our city. As a constituent, I believe every resident of the City of Wilmington, regardless of where they live, race, or class, should have access to clean and safe water. As many continue to struggle economically due to the lasting impacts of the pandemic, the State of Delaware has dedicated millions in federal coronavirus relief funding to provide housing assistance, including payments for utility bills. That's why I'm reaching to share my support for the passage of Ordinance #0096 to:

● Enact a temporary 6-month moratorium on water service disconnections.

● Send information with the water bill about where residents can get help to pay for water.
