No Vote Left Behind in the KU Health System Union Election

Kansas Public Employee Relations Board

IAM Healthcare KU Pharmacy Technicians

The integrity of a representation election depends upon every eligible employee having their vote fairly considered. Any ballots cast by eligible voters during the authorized election period should not be excluded due to administrative error, mishandling, delay, or other circumstances beyond the control of the voting employees.

We, the undersigned employees, patients and Kansas community members
, respectfully petition the Kansas Public Employee Relations Board to ensure that all valid ballots that were recovered or discovered after the initial tally in the union representation election involving pharmacy technicians at The University of Kansas Health System are counted and included in the official election results.

The integrity of a representation election depends upon every eligible employee having their vote fairly considered. Any ballots cast by eligible voters during the authorized election period should not be excluded due to administrative error, mishandling, delay, or other circumstances beyond the control of the voting employees.

We therefore request that the Board:

Verify and preserve all recovered or previously uncounted ballots.
Conduct a transparent review of the chain of custody and ballot handling procedures.
Count all valid ballots cast by eligible pharmacy technicians.
Permit appropriate observation of the ballot review and counting process by interested parties.
Delay certification of the election results until all valid ballots have been reviewed and counted.

Failure to count recovered ballots risks disenfranchising eligible employees and undermining confidence in the fairness and legitimacy of the election process overseen by the Board.

We submit this petition in the interest of fairness, transparency, and the protection of employees’ collective bargaining rights.
