Eyemart Express: Prioritize Safety, NOT Union Busting!

Eyemart Express

Tell Eyemart Express to STOP putting Springfield, Missouri employees, customers, and the community at risk of Covid-19.

Eyemart Express is ignoring CDC guidelines on covid-19 and putting staff, customers, and the greater Springfield community at risk of infection. Why? Because Eyemart Express has recklessly decided to flood the store with union busting corporate leadership, instead of prioritizing worker's health and safety. Union busting should not put employees and customers lives at risk!

Even Trump's labor board feels that it is not safe to unnecessarily occupy the store beyond the purposes needed for business. In a recent board filing, the National Labor Relations Board Region 14 stated, "Springfield has 1,988 confirmed cases, with 922 known active cases and 16 confirmed deaths. On August 12, Springfield set a record for confirmed cases on a single day with 95." The board rejected claims for an in-store election and moved election to mail in ballots.

Yet management is flooding the store with five extra employees, breathing in close quarters, whose sole purpose is to bust a union. These five extra employees recklessly increase risk for employees, customers, and our community!

Is it worth dying over union busting?! Sign our petition and tell Eyemart Express to STOP putting employees, customers, and the community at risk of Covid-19.

We are calling on Eyemart Express to immediately halt all in-person union busting activity that continues to put employees, customers, and the greater Springfield, MO community at risk of Covid-19.

Sending out-of-town corporate management to occupy close quarters is in direct violation of the CDC's August 9th recommendations that state, “[b]ecause travel increases your chances of getting infected and spreading COVID-19, staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting sick.”

Even Trump's NLRB agrees--the pandemic poses a risk to us all and we must do our part to prevent unnecessary illness and death. In a recent filing from the NLRB Region 14, they stated that "Springfield has 1,988 confirmed cases, with 922 known active cases and 16 confirmed deaths. On August 12, Springfield set a record for confirmed cases on a single day with 95."

Yet management is flooding the store with five extra employees, breathing in close quarters, whose sole purpose is to bust a union. These five extra employees recklessly increase risk for employees, customers, and our community!

This is reckless and harmful to the community. Please take action immediately to remove managerial staff unnecessary to the day-to-day operations of the store.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter!
