Fair Contract for University of Scranton Faculty

Father Marina and University of Scranton Administration

The Faculty Affairs Council (FAC) is the faculty union at The University of Scranton. FAC represents all full-time faculty members and is affiliated with the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT, Local 6805).

Since early 2025, we have been negotiating with the University administration for a fair contract. Our contract expired on September 1st, and instead of investing in faculty, the administration has put forward proposals that boil down to small raises, big cuts, and harsher rules.

Faculty are asking for a contract that respects our work and provides fair compensation for the teaching, mentoring, research, and service that make this University strong. Every student’s education depends on a faculty that is supported, not undermined.

We call on the University to choose respect and fairness, to settle a contract that honors and appropriately compensates the work faculty do every day, and ensures the high-quality education that students deserve. Please, add your name—stand with us for dignity, fairness, and a stronger University of Scranton.

As a member of the University of Scranton community, I value the dedication and expertise of the faculty who make this institution a place of learning, discovery, and growth. Their commitment to education and to the university’s mission deserves to be matched by a fair contract. Ensuring that faculty receive fair compensation and manageable workloads not only honors their contributions but also strengthens the entire university community. I respectfully urge you to settle a fair contract with the faculty, as they directly impact the quality of education and the success of every student.
