To: Erie Community College / SUNY Erie Leadership and the Erie Community College Board of Trustees/Erie County Executive:
I am writing to express my support for a fair collective bargaining agreement for the members of the Administrators Association of Erie Community College, AAECC-UAW Local 3300.
SUNY Erie is an important public institution that serves students, families, employers, and communities throughout Erie County. The administrative professionals represented by AAECC help keep the College operating every day. Their work supports Admissions, Financial Aid, the Registrar’s Office, Athletics, Student Affairs, Marketing, Grants, Finance, Workforce Development, Academic Affairs, and many other areas that directly affect students and the College’s mission.
AAECC members have been working without a new contract for six years. They have remained committed to serving students and supporting the institution through leadership changes, budget challenges, staffing reductions, increased workloads, and prolonged negotiations.
A fair contract is not only about wages. It is about respect, retention, equity, retirement security, and the long-term stability of SUNY Erie.
I support a fair contract because:
• Respect for employees strengthens public institutions.
• Retaining experienced professionals benefits students and the community.
• Equal pay for equal work promotes fairness and morale.
• Stable staffing supports student services and institutional continuity.
• Investing in workers is investing in SUNY Erie’s future.
After six years without a contract and approximately eighteen months at the bargaining table, it is time for a fair settlement.
I respectfully urge Erie Community College / SUNY Erie to continue bargaining in good faith and reach a fair agreement with AAECC-UAW Local 3300.
SUNY Erie students, employees, and the Erie County community all benefit when the College invests in the workers who support students.
Respectfully,
