FCA: Keep Palantir out of our regulator!

Nikhil Rathi, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) CEO & FCA Executive Committee

Have you heard of Palantir?

Do you want the UK’s financial services regulator to share its most sensitive data with an organisation which is:

  • Supplying AI products to militaries involved in alleged human rights abuses and war crimes
  • Enabling Trump’s inhumane Immigration raids by providing its services and products to the USA’s border enforcement agency ICE
  • Becoming deeply enmeshed with the UK state, with existing access to sensitive data across the government and other agencies, including the MoD and the NHS
  • Led by individuals who have professed support for the American far-right and expressed the view that democracy and freedom are no longer compatible

If your answer is no, then please sign our petition to end Palantir’s involvement with the FCA.

In February 2026 Palantir Technologies, a US technology firm, was awarded a three-month contract by the FCA to undertake a ‘proof of concept’ on how its services could be used to analyse FCA’s data to strengthen its ability to counter financial crime.  Palantir will be granted access to a substantial volume of data, including that of the highest sensitivity, and it is anticipated that this could lead to a further, more substantial contract to be awarded to Palantir should the proof of concept be deemed a success.

Palantir has built its controversial reputation through its work with the US Department of Defense, border enforcement agencies and intelligence services and militaries of other countries, including by Israel in its wars in Gaza and Lebanon. This work, alongside its leaders’ controversial statements, makes Palantir a wholly unethical and unsuitable partner for the FCA.

Additionally, the continuation of Palantir’s involvement with FCA risks:

  • Severely undermining the trust the public places in the FCA, and reducing the crucial flow of information it requires to fight financial crime.
  • The sharing of sensitive data and knowledge of the inner workings of the FCA with individuals associated with the far-right, including those who wish to undermine and interfere with democratic practices
  • Strengthening Palantir’s systems and products it used for other means, potentially causing the FCA to become complicit with Palantir’s involvement with alleged genocide, war crimes and the mass surveillance of vulnerable people
  • Perpetuating the dominance of US tech and AI companies in key aspects of the British state, at the expense of building important capability within UK-based providers

For these reasons, we are asking you to support our call for the immediate end of Palantir's involvement with the FCA. Add your name today!
