Fire Chandler Officer Chase Bebak-Miller for the murder of a minor
Chandler Police Department, Chief Sean Duggan
Trigger Warning: The language below has a detailed description of police brutality.
A 17-year-old child named Anthony Cano, was murdered by a Chandler Police officer. Anthony was stopped by Chase Bebak-Miller for not having a front bicycle light, and this interaction resulted in the loss of this child’s life. In the body camera footage, Bebak-Miller is running after Anthony and Bebak-Miller’s immediate reaction after yelling “stop” was to shoot the child. Bebak-Miller shot Anthony in the back twice, ending his life. Life-saving moments passed and there was no response from Bebak-Miller to administer aid to Anthony. Anthony was laying on the floor for a minute bleeding and handcuffed after the second officer showed up on scene, and they continued to act as if this dying teenager was somehow a threat to their safety.
The Chandler Police department needs to hold Chase Bebak-Miller accountable for murdering a child. The Cano family is demanding that Chief Sean Duggan permanently fire Chase Bebak-Miller effective immediately. The family is reeling from the loss of their child, who was killed by the department who is supposed to protect and serve the community and instead the police are terrorizing the community.

I am sending this letter demanding that Chief Sean Duggan permanently fire Chase Bebak-Miller effective immediately. Bebak-Miller is responsible for the murder of Anthony Cano, a 17 yr old child. The Cano family is experiencing pain and grief that nobody should have to. In the body camera footage, one can see Bebak-Miller acted with negligence. Even after Anthony was already lying on the ground wounded, Bebak-Miller shot Anthony a second time resulting in the death of Anthony. In addition, the lack of aid administered and the difficulty of it due to the handcuffs that he expeditiously put on a paralyzed person, further contributed to his suffering and ultimately his death. Chief Sean Duggan MUST permanently fire Chase Bebak-Miller effective immediately.
