ASU is wasting millions of dollars on a security system that keeps no one safe. Flock cameras are expensive, unreliable, and a threat to the safety of women and immigrants. Tempe has turned off the cameras and is planning to take them down; however, ASU has doubled down, refusing to end its contract and continuing the unjust surveillance.

We the students at ASU, for our privacy and safety, demand all flock and equivalent ALPRs be removed from campus, and for ASU and ASUPD to cancel all contracts with the company indefinitely. ALPRs do nothing but give police and ICE an avenue to stalk and harass innocent people, and the AI tracking system in the cameras has proven itself to be unreliable and make false reports. The money being spent on these cameras should instead be spent on paying ALL of ASU's staff a livable wage and providing free parking for staff and students. The city of Tempe has already canceled it's contract with Flock, ASU must be next.
