For climate justice we call for a full arms embargo on Israel
Tyne and Wear MPs
The international court of justice has ruled there is a genocide happening in Gaza. More than 40,000 have died.
The environmental impact of the conflict is substantial with the emissions from the first 120 days of the Israel-Gaza conflict exceeding the annual emissions of 26 individual countries. [https://www.qmul.ac.uk/media/news/2024/hss/new-study-reveals-substantial-carbon-emissions-from-the-ongoing-israel-gaza-conflict.html]
Military operations, according to a previous study, are responsible for about 5.5% of global carbon emissions.
To protect the future for all children we must prioritise peace.

Mothers* Rebellion 6th global action takes place on Saturday 21st September, coinciding with the UN Summit of the Future in New York, and the first ever "Global Week of Action for Peace and Climate Justice".
Mothers* and allies across the globe once again gather in circles to demand swift climate action for the future of all our kids.
This time we focus on the links between war, militarism and climate injustice to stress the crucial and urgent need to divest from war and invest in just climate solutions!
We are therefore asking the Labour Party for a full arms embargo on Israel. We cannot continue to be complicit in what the International Court of Justice says may be genocide.
UK weapons are contributing to immense human suffering in Gaza. And off-the-scale environmental destruction. This has to stop.
We look forward to a response from Tyne and Wear MPs.
