Walter and other immigrants detained in the NWDC are living in inhumane conditions and day after day are being mistreated by GEO Group staff. Walter uplifts his and others’ experiences not being able to access food that is nutritious enough, that has enough protein, or being able to access quality medical care in a timely manner.

Walter Alarcon is one of the many people detained in the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC) where people continue to experience human rights abuses. The conditions inside the NWDC are not fit for any human being.
For weeks, detained immigrants in the NWDC have reported issues with the food, medical, and hygiene supplies to the point that over 140 people participated in a hunger strike, including Walter Alarcon.
Walter calls attention to the overcrowding and impact that GEO’s had on detained immigrants: people are suffering and it’s NOT okay.
I urge you to intervene in this profit over people scheme and demand detained immigrants’ immediate release.
This pattern of abuse needs to end. Please reach out to ICE and urge them to release Walter so he is able to return with his family and community.
