We, the members of the Food & Water Workers’ Union, are writing to urge you and the rest of Management to seriously work with our bargaining committee to ensure that our first collective bargaining agreement properly sustains our work and reflects our shared values.

Our bargaining committee’s proposals are a reflection of the staff's commitments to Food & Water Watch's missions and values of Economic Fairness, a Healthy and Livable Planet, Justice for All, Real Democracy, and Human Dignity.

We are united in support of our union's proposals of:

Fair and livable wages for all: All FWW staff deserve economic fairness, which means raising the current minimum of $40,000 to a livable wage and establishing regular annual increases that account for the rising costs of living.

Healthcare Benefits for Working Families: All FWW staff deserve a healthy and livable environment, which means employer contributions to healthcare coverage for our dependents and loved ones.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in our CBA: All FWW staff deserve to see justice in our work and workplace, which means codifying partnership in developing programs and practices that advance fair treatment and equitable outcomes regardless of race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

We call on you to invest in the work of Food & Water Watch through engaging in real democracy to reach agreements with our union that are consistent with the values the organization holds. The success of our collective mission – and the well-being and dignity of your staff – depends on it.
