In light of the public health crises brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we call on General Dynamics to do the right thing by immediately ceasing operations at NASSCO San Diego and send workers home with full pay and benefits. Lives are very literally at stake. In order to slow the spread and prevent more illnesses and deaths, we must limit contact. Your workforce touches many cities, counties and Mexico which allows for the spread of the virus. The CDC, the President of the United States, The governor of California, the mayor of San Diego and every public health agency recommends social distancing and limiting social contact as essential to slow the spread of the virus and to "bend the curve" Do the right thing, right now, and join many business in California and the USA who are sending workers home with full pay.
