App workers have kept people moving safely during what has become the deadliest pandemic outbreak in U.S. history.
We work long hours, often with no breaks, and cover long distances. We're essential workers and yet don’t have proper access to bathrooms to relieve ourselves with dignity. We’re often banned from using the bathrooms of the restaurants and ghost kitchens where we pick up deliveries.
We’re calling on the app corporations to provide:
- Access to sanitary, permanent bathroom facilities in restaurants and ghost kitchens we service. This is particularly important given that we handle and transport food products.
- Access to sanitary, permanent bathroom facilities at airports with access to potable water for drinking and washing our hands. This is critical to ensuring the safety of ourselves and our passengers.
- Access to sanitary, permanent bathroom facilities for all app-based drivers.
We're human beings, and we deserve to be treated with dignity and respect like any other worker.
