TELL CONGRESS: NO TO BAD INTERNET BILLS
Congress
Our lawmakers should be protecting all of us by passing privacy legislation to rein in Big Tech abuses. Instead, they’re pushing dangerous and misguided bills, like EARN IT and KOSA, that expand surveillance and censorship and threaten human rights. There are so many bad bills that it’s hard to keep track of them all. We’ve compiled some of the worst internet bills on this petition to make it easier. Fill out the form to automatically email your lawmakers opposing the bills below!
Tell lawmakers “I oppose all bills that weaken end-to-end encryption, infringe upon teenagers’ constitutional right to free speech on the internet, and enable censorship of valuable online resources for abortion seekers and LGBTQ+ communities. If you truly care about young people’s experience on the internet, you should pass comprehensive data privacy legislation and oppose EARN IT, KOSA, the RESTRICT Act, STOP CSAM, the Cooper Davis Act, and age restrictions on social media.”

Passing bills that weaken end-to-end encryption, require online ID checks, or repeal Section 230—which protects free speech online—will give Trump the power to crush public and private dissenters. Lives will be irreparably harmed if you enable Trump’s government to pressure abortion funds off the internet, surveil our messages, or age gate and censor online resources for vulnerable communities. If you care about your constituents, you should oppose EARN IT, KOSA, the Cooper Davis Act, the SCREEN Act, and any bill to impose age verification requirements or to end Section 230 speech protections.
