We demand an immediate halt to the harassment and criminalization of day laborers seeking work at your stores across the Inland Empire.

Day laborers are essential members of our community, providing vital services to homeowners and contractors who frequent your stores. Many of these workers depend on their work trucks to connect with employers and carry out jobs. Your current practices—such as coordinating with local authorities to tow their vehicles and threatening them with arrest—are unjust and jeopardize their ability to support themselves and their families.

Rather than alienating these workers, we urge you to take a leadership role by collaborating with day laborers and their representatives at the Pomona Economic Opportunity Center (PEOC) to create safe, designated areas within your parking lots where they can seek work without fear of harassment or criminalization.

We also demand that you cease all coordination with local governments and law enforcement targeting day laborers. These actions undermine their livelihoods and perpetuate economic inequality in our region.

We request that you meet with PEOC and worker representatives within the next 90 days to develop a fair and respectful solution. Home Depot has an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the dignity and rights of all workers while strengthening its reputation as a responsible community partner.
