Tell Mark Carney: No more money to corporate developers
Prime Minister Mark Carney, The Federal Government of Canada

We may have a huge opportunity to break free of corporate control of the housing market and build millions of affordable-forever homes. But only if we act fast.
The federal government’s new Crown Corporation — Build Canada Homes (BCH) — could be a turning point in the housing crisis. But unless we act now, while it's being drafted, billions in public funding could end up in the hands of corporate developers.
A big petition, signed by all of us, demanding that BCH not hand any more money to the people fuelling the housing crisis could help make sure the Carney Liberals prioritize building deeply affordable, non-market homes that are accessible to working people.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Canada to ensure that Build Canada Homes prioritizes the construction of deeply affordable, non-market housing. Public funds must not be used to subsidize private developers or corporate landlords. We urge you to attach strong affordability conditions and rent controls to all federal housing investments.
