We support the Howard Center Workers' Union in its demand that Howard Center management engage in face-to-face bargaining with the Union and work toward improvements that will benefit the agency's clients and staff, especially:
-Safe staffing and workloads.
-Affordable healthcare.
-Adequate paid time off (CTO) for all of Howard's workers.
-Adequate compensation for all staff, including increased compensation for those who have worked the longest at the agency.
-Making equitable and clear the grievance procedure and rights of just cause for all Howard workers.
We also demand that Howard Center management respect the Union's prerogative to involve its members in the bargaining process, including by attending bargaining sessions, as this is a protected right under the NLRA (National Labor Relations Act).
