I Stand With Linda Sarsour

Activists and Leaders,

Linda Sarsour is one of the most passionate and dedicated activists in the movement, and our sister in the fight for justice. For all her beauty, Linda is under attack by Dov Hikind and Rory Lancman, members of the New York State Assembly and City Council

Outraged at the idea that the City University of New York (CUNY) would allow a Muslim woman to provide a commencement speech to its graduating seniors, Hikind and Lancman have gone on a smear campaign to discredit Linda. For Hikind, this isn't the first time he has revealed his racist values in the news--he also made headlines for wearing blackface, clearly believing that black men are costumes, not human beings--but right now Hikind and Lancman still feel immune to backlash.

No matter how low they stoop, Linda has stood fast, not letting the hateful words or Islamophobic agenda break her. Unfortunately, their words are provoking the kind of bigots who threaten her very existence. This is nothing short of hate speech that puts Linda in real danger.

Linda has been an advocate for all people-- black people, immigrants, queer and trans people, working people. Now more than ever she needs us all to have her back.

That's where you come in. We're building a movement of fellow activists and supporters to show how loved, impactful and important Linda is to all of us. It's time to reject Hikind and Lancman’s hate. Sign this petition and let the world know: #IStandWithLinda.
