Westhaven residents and 10th and Page neighbors object to the massive building proposed for 835, 843, and 847 W. Main Street. Developers are proposing an 11-story luxury student apartment building next to The Standard. It would be directly above much of Westhaven, overshadowing and isolating neighbors. Instead of collaborating with Westhaven Resident Planners and 10th & Page neighbors, the developers waited to share their plan until Westhaven Residents had finalized their redevelopment site plan. Resident voices should have been involved from the start!
Significant changes to the size and scale of the building must be made to avoid major negative impacts, including:
1. Add several “step-backs” starting with the 2nd floor, to increase the height above Westhaven gradually with less overshadowing of the neighborhood.
2. Increase the setbacks: on July 31, the developers said they would have at least 60’ between the building and the property line with Westhaven. More is needed!
3. Improve pedestrian safety: add space to separate the road from the Memory Walk. (See picture below of the resident-designed space between the neighborhood and West Main Street.)
4. Remove the massive wall along the Westhaven walking path to West Main in the current plans to allow more connection.
Please support 10th and Page and Westhaven residents by:
a) Signing the petition to ask the City to prioritize the 10th and Page and Westhaven communities and make the developers, Lv Collective, modify their current building plans.
b) Attending the meeting of the Board of Architectural Review on August 19 at 5:30 PM in City Council Chambers at City Hall.

I support the Residents of Westhaven and 10th & Page!
By signing this petition, I ask the City to stop the major negative impacts of the proposed massive student apartment building on West Main Street. Residents of Westhaven and 10th and Page neighbors object to being even more overshadowed and isolated!
