Green Party of the U.S. and all state Green Parties

Green the House - Overgrow the Government

2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and thus the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. While the Green Party emerged from the 2024 election as the clearest alternative to stop the genocide and break the two-party duopoly, 2026 is screaming out for real leadership at the federal level. 250 years after declaring independence from the British empire, it's a critical time for us to mount a serious challenge to U.S. Empire from within the belly of the beast.

Congress has fully abdicated its responsibilities to represent We the People as the highest body of this supposed constitutional republic, and 2026 is the perfect time for the Green Party to jump into the leadership void created by the corrupt bipartisan establishment and show the way forward. We need a real political revolution, a massive systemic transformation of the deadly institutions that are destroying the social, economic, and ecological fabric of our communities and communities and even entire countries abroad.

By strategically flooding the general election ballot lines of as many House and Senate seats as possible on November 3, 2026, the Green Party will declare the end of a corrupt two-party duopoly and assert itself as the only truly independent, people-powered political party in the nation ready to lead the way to the sane, just, and healthy future we all deserve.

For over 40 years, the Green Parties of the United States have earnestly tried to wage a decentralized uphill battle against an increasingly entrenched and corrupt two-party duopoly that puts private profits above all else. Let us make 2026 a year of reckoning for U.S. Empire by strategically exploiting the 435 Congressional ballot openings, 33 Senate openings, and a handful of non-voting seats representing US territories, including the District of Columbia, the Cherokee Nation, and a treaty-rights seat promised to the Choctaw Nation.

Instead of playing by the rules set out for us by the duopoly parties in power to keep us chasing moving goal posts on a tilted playing field, let us come together across the country, in our local chapters, our state parties, our caucuses, and in our communities, to forge a bold new strategic direction for the party. We will set the goals together, we will examine our strengths and weaknesses and needs and opportunities together, and we will develop a compelling national campaign that will look outward toward organizing our communities towards a permanent, independent political force in the United States for 2026 and beyond. Together, we will overgrow the government.
