I Vote NO Confidence in Governor McKee’s State Budget
Governor McKee

Governor McKee has repeatedly pledged to raise incomes and improve healthcare outcomes for every Rhode Islander but his most recent state budget proposals would do the exact opposite and make the existing care crisis far worse.

We, the undersigned, work in, and receive care from, our state’s hospitals, community health centers, child care centers and nursing homes across the state. Governor McKee has repeatedly pledged to raise incomes and improve healthcare outcomes for every Rhode Islander but his most recent state budget proposals would do the exact opposite and make the existing care crisis far worse by:
- Cutting nearly $25 million to hospital funding and bypassing the yearly Medicaid rate increase
- Gutting safe staffing and reducing the scheduled Medicaid cola increase
- Failing to provide the necessary funding to keep Community Health Centers open to over 100,000 Rhode Islanders.
For these reasons, I am voting no-confidence in Governor McKee’s state budget and call on him to honor his commitment to the people of Rhode Island. Our patients, families and communities deserve better.
By adding my signature, I am voting NO confidence in Gov. McKee’s state budget.
