I'm with Joan Walsh

MSNBC

Longtime MSNBC guest contributor, and strong progressive voice, Joan Walsh, was suddenly fired by MSNBC one business day before Christmas.

After 12 years with the network, Joan was let go for no apparent reason, at a time when the network continues to hire right-wingers like Hugh Hewitt and George Will.

It's an odd moment to fire one of America's strongest and most effective female progressive voices, with women and their issues finally getting the attention they deserve. Understandably, a lot of people are upset about this decision.

It's also part of a larger pattern of MSNBC attempting to diminish progressive voices. First, there was talk of firing Lawrence O'Donnell. Then the attempt to get rid of Sam Seder. And now, Joan Walsh. With Lawrence and Sam, progressives rallied and MSNBC did the right thing. We can convince MSNBC to do the right thing again with Joan.

In these dangerous times, we must stand by our fellow progressives, and we must stand with women. Please show your support for Joan by signing this petition demanding that MSNBC rehire Joan Walsh. Hopefully we can convince MSNBC to do the right thing; and at the very least, we can show other networks that Joan's voice matters.
